There is an interesting discussion going on in regards to generics in the new programming language called Go. Since the language is in development, design decisions have to be taken and are openly discussed in the community by developers and users. I find it interesting to follow the different ideas as they give insight to code and language design.
Russ Cox’s blog has a nice set of comment’s on the issue. In the mailing-list there are a dozen topics on generics, this is the most resent one.
